Darnall Charter School Food & Nutrition Services is excited to offer nutritious, delicious meals designed to support student learning, growth, and success.

Every school day, students can enjoy a wide array of options, including fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, whole-grain entrées, and cold, low-fat milk. Darnall Charter School partners with Top Notch Lunches, a local school food provider that prepares fresh, scratch-made meals using locally sourced ingredients whenever available. Together, we are working to make school meals nutritious, delicious, and something students can look forward to each day.

Free School Breakfast, Lunch, and After-School Supper

Through California’s Universal Meals Program, all Darnall Charter School students can receive free school breakfast and free school lunch every school day, regardless of household income.

Students who participate in Darnall’s after-school care program are also provided with a free supper through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) At-Risk After-School Program.

Families are still strongly encouraged to complete the confidential Universal Benefits Form by email or obtain a paper form from the school office. Information collected through this process helps schools and districts access important funding that supports student programs, services, and resources.

Darnall Charter School Food & Nutrition Services participates in federal nutrition programs, including the School Breakfast Program (SBP), National School Lunch Program (NSLP), and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) At-Risk After-School Program.

Meal Accommodations and Language Access

Families who need meal accommodations due to a disability or medical condition are encouraged to contact Darnall Charter School Food & Nutrition Services to discuss available accommodations and required documentation. Families may also contact Food & Nutrition Services regarding dietary needs related to religious beliefs, vegetarian or vegan diets, or other dietary restrictions. We will work with families to determine appropriate meal options that meet program requirements and available accommodations.
